How does Learning and Development support your production environment?<\/h2><\/div>

At a production site, one encounters several challenges: a complex process, island automation and lack of communication between departments are some examples. One of our customers asked us the question: how can we optimize our production environment with Learning & Development? <\/p>\n<\/div>

Our client's challenge: an error-prone process & long familiarization time<\/h3><\/div>

The situation was as follows: the production process required consulting multiple sources and departments to carry out the work. Moreover, our client faces many exceptions to the standard situation. The result? A complex process where many small errors (can) occur with major consequences.<\/p>\n

In addition, the department is understaffed so new people are inducted “on the job.” This takes quite a long time (6 to 12 months) and has a huge impact on the productivity of existing employees.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

TTA International helped the client by tracing multiple “problem areas” to address them incrementally. To begin with, we explored how junior employees could quickly(er) pick up their work independently and how to minimize the possibility of errors. A training program was then developed that shortened the familiarization time and reduced the reliance on senior staff.<\/div><\/div><\/div>

<\/i><\/i><\/span>Step 1 - Achieve effective onboarding<\/span><\/a><\/h3><\/div>
An in-depth onboarding for the new employees has been developed so that they can quickly(er) get the right basics. Such as understanding the processes, what dependencies exist and where to expect challenges. Furthermore, one must speak the same language as “veterans” to understand what is going on in the workplace. <\/div><\/div><\/div>

<\/i><\/i><\/span>Step 2 - Deployment of "captive AI" solution<\/span><\/a><\/h3><\/div>
A huge time savings was achieved by deploying an Artificial Intelligence bot that took over the role of demand bucket from senior staff through the organization’s existing Microsoft Teams environment. An AI bot converges information flows and sources. It is also possible to keep track of exactly who asks what: this gives a very detailed picture of the level of knowledge within the organization (and can be proactively acted upon).<\/div><\/div><\/div>

<\/i><\/i><\/span>Step 3 - Set up training program<\/span><\/a><\/h3><\/div>
By setting up a training program – in which employees go through the process based on simulated assignments – our client took a big step in the area of process optimization. Following the 4C-ID model (Van Merri\u00ebnboer), employees learn the intricacies of the job with ever-decreasing support.<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
